Yes. Port-to-Port rates and door rates are both set by uploading a CSV, and the flow is the same for every shipping product.
- Open the Rate Card and download its CSV template. Templates are generated per Rate Card, so a template downloaded for one card is not interchangeable with another.
- Fill the file in using a spreadsheet program such as Excel or Google Sheets. One row is one lane, or for door rates, one city.
- Upload the completed file, by dragging it onto the upload area or by selecting it.
- Connect validates the file. If anything is wrong, the problems appear beside the upload area and nothing is saved. Correct the file and upload it again.
The columns differ by shipping product. Each has its own guide:
- How do I add Port-to-Port Services for Air?
- How do I add Port-to-Port Services for Ocean LCL?
- How do I add Port-to-Port Services for Ocean FCL?
- How Do I Upload My Door Rates
An upload replaces your rates
Uploading a file does not add to the rates already on the Rate Card. It replaces them. Every lane you want on the card has to be in the file you upload, including lanes that are not changing.
File size limit
A rate file may carry at most 50,000 rows. A larger file is refused straight away, and the message gives both the row count of your file and the limit.
Because an upload replaces the card's rates, splitting an oversized file across two uploads does not work: the second upload would discard the first. Reduce the file instead, or spread the lanes across more than one Rate Card.
When a file has problems
Connect reports up to twenty problems at a time. When there are more, a summary line follows the list giving the total number of problems found, the number of rows in the file, how many problems are shown, the row the list stops at, and how many are not shown.
The cap can fall in the middle of a row, so the last row named in the list may have further problems that are not shown. Fix what is listed and upload again to see the rest.
